The Giessbach Funicular is a cable railway that takes you from Lake Brienz up to the Grandhotel Giessbach and waterfall viewpoint.

Open: April thru October

Current status: www.giessbach.chwebcam

Timetable

The funicular schedule is coordinated with the boat arrival and departure times. This varies by season, with less frequency in spring and fall.

Check funicular schedule • See Lake Brienz boat schedule.

You can buy your tickets from the staff or machines on-site or via their website. You do not need to book in advance. It's first come, first served.

Overnight hotel guests ride for free.

How to get there

You can ride a boat on Lake Brienz to boats to the Giessbach (See) stop. You can catch the boat at Interlaken Ost (west side of lake) or Brienz village (east side of lake). See BLS boat schedule.
