Message from Tanya Deans

The "Bärengraben" near the Bern old town has been home to bears since the 16th century. The small "bear pit" has been replaces by a spacious, modern enclosure, offering the bears a more comfortable natural habitat.

There are currently a family of three bears living at the park.

Location: Just past the east side of the Bern old town, across the river, near the Nydegg Bridge. See on map.

From Bern train station, about a 20 min walk or ride tram 12, about a 10 min ride.

Open: open 24h, free to visit
