Fly like a bird with First Glider, a unique zip line where you ride face first like superman.

You start by being pulled backwards from the lower station at a high speed of 72km/h. Then you glide downhill 800 m at speeds up to 83 km/h.

Open: mid December through late October • daily 10:00 - 15:30

Requirements: 10 years old, 130cm (4'3''), max. weight 125 kg (275lb)

How to get there

To reach the First Glider ride, you ride a gondola from the Grindelwald village. The First gondola is located at Dorfstrasse 187, 3818 Grindelwald.

From the Grindelwald train station (not Grindelwald Terminal), its a 10 min walk through the village. Or you can ride bus 123 to the Grindelwald, Firstbahn stop.

Ride the gondola up to the mountain, getting off at the "Schrekfeld" stop. The line for the Glider is just below the station.

Tickets

⚠️NOTE: You can no longer purchase Glider tickets in advance. You must purchase them on-site.

You pay a fee to ride the gondola and an extra fee to do the First Glider. You can buy Glider tickets at the gondola station ticket office (valley only) or in the Glider line.

You cannot reserve a particular time slot. It's first come, first served. They do sell out.

They offer an Adventure Package, which includes the gondola ticket and 1 or 2 of the amusements (First Flyer, First Glider, Go-Carts, or Trotti scooters). If you want to do more than 2 amusements, you can purchase them separately. But because of the long wait times, it's usually not practical to do more than one or two activities.

⚠️Warning: with the long wait times, you may not have time to do more than 1 amusement. During high season, we suggest planning to do only one amusement.

Opening times

The First Glider is open from mid December through late October.

During this season, it's open daily from 9.00 - 16.45, first come first served. On busy days, we recommend arriving by 9:00 or earlier to get in line. I would not plan to do this in the afternoon.
