The safest way to reach the Seealpsee is hiking up via the service road. Since it doesn't require a cable car, it's free and can be done offseason and off hours.

From the train station and parking, just keep walking on the main road towards the mountains, following signs to Seealpsee.

Trail: Moderate • 2h round trip • 5.6 km • 270m up and down • See trail map

Open: usually possible April to November

Conditions: www.ebenalp.chwebcamforecast

It's a wide relatively obstacle-free path, suitable for less experienced hikers and children. It is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs as it is very steep at times.

It is not a difficult hike, but it does require some fitness to climb the 270m of elevation to reach the lake.
