At Trauffer Erlebniswelt (aka "World of Experiences") near Interlaken, you can discover the traditional craftsmanship of Trauffer wooden toys.
Trauffer makes adorable wooden animals, including the iconic wooden cow, that you'll see in many Swiss homes, day cares, primary scools and play areas.
The self-guided tour through the "Cow Universe" (aka KUHiversum) features life-sized models of traditional Swiss animals like cows, goats, and sheep. It also has interactive displays on Swiss folklore and customs, where you'll learn about the history and culture of Swiss woodcarving.
Children will love the fun activities like milking cows, making butter, and trying traditional Swiss snacks. Additionally, there are outdoor play areas where children can climb, swing, and slide.
Make your own cow: For an extra fee, children can paint wooden animals and ages 12+ can carve a cow and paint them.
There is a gift shop and bistro on-site. It's a short walk from Ballenberg, so a good add-on if you are also visiting that.
