The Harderbahn is a funicular railway that takes you from Interlaken up to the stunning Harder Kulm mountain viewpoint.

The funicular departs about every 30 mins. It's a 10 min journey to the top. The car carries 65 passengers at a time.

The track length is 1.4 km, ascending 735m of elevation to the top station at 1305m. It has a maximum include of 64%.

Tickets

The ticket price varies by season. In summer 2026, a round trip ticket costs CHF 44/adult full fare.

We suggest buying tickets online (even same day), so you can skip the line for the ticket office and go directly to the funicular boarding line.

If you have the STP or HFC, it’s easiest to buy on Jungfrau.ch to get the discount. You can also buy using the SBB Mobile app.

⚠️ NOTE: If you book tickets on Jungfrau.ch, you will select a specific time for the ascent and descent. However, this does NOT give you guaranteed boarding at those times. Your ticket can be used anytime that day.

Discounts

The funicular ticket is free with the Jungfrau Travel Pass and Berner Oberland Pass. You can scan your pass QR code directly at the turnstile when you board.

Discount 50% with Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Half Fare Card, Eurail, and Interlaken Guest Card. To get the discount, purchase tickets via Jungfrau.ch and select your discount card during checkout. Make sure to bring your valid travel pass/card with you.
