The Lobhornhütte is a classic Swiss mountain hut, high in the Jungfrau Region mountains (1955m). You can reach the hut via a cable car and short hike.
It's a nice place to have lunch, then continue hiking elsewhere. It's also a fun place to stay overnight, for a traditional Swiss experience.
Near the hut, you'll find the pretty Sulsseewli alpine lake, which reflects the surrounding peaks on a calm day.

Open: The hut is usually open for summer season from early May through mid October. But the trail to the hut may have snow in spring and fall.
How to get there
Many trails lead to the Lobhorn hut. Many people start by riding a cable car from Isenfluh (1081m) to Suhlwald (, partway up the mountain.
The Isenfluh cable car station is located near Lauterbrunnen, a few minutes up a mountain road - see on map. There is metered parking nearby - see on map. Or you can ride a bus from the Lauterubrunnen train station to the Isenfluh, Dorf stop, which is a short walk from the cable car.
From the top of the cable car, it's about a 1h15 hike up to the hut, gaining 464m - see trail map. You can return the same way or continue hiking elsewhere.
Staying overnight
They have 24 bed in their dormitory. You can reserve via alpsponline.org.
For weekends, best to reserve a few months in advance. For weekdays, you can often get a bed a few days in advance. But if your dates are fixed, reserve earlier.
You'll need to bring a sleeping bag liner (aka Huttenschlafsack). The hut does not rent liners, but you can purchase them.
They have toilets, but showers. No tap water, but they sell bottled water at the hut.
Hiking near Lauberhorn
For day trip, I suggest riding up the Lauterbrunnen-Grütschalp cable car. Then hiking across to the Lobhorn hut (about 3 hours), where you can have lunch. Then descend to Suhwald to ride the cable car down. Then bus back to Lauterbrunnen. About 4 hours hiking • 10.4 km one way • 803m up, 775m down. See trail map.
A popular option is hiking up to the Kleine Lobhorn peak. From the hut to the peak, it's about 1h45 • 3.3km one way • ascending 590m. Return the way you came. See trail map.
