This fun hike for kids has treasure chests hidden along the trail. If you find all the clues, you can collect a prize at the restaurant.
Globi Treasure Hunt Trail: easy • 1h30 • 3 or 4 km • all downhill
Open: mid June to October
Location: Brunni Engelberg cable car – Wydenstrasse 55, 6390 Engelberg. Bus stop: Engelberg, Brunnibahn
There are two versions of the trail: Globi and Globine.
Option A: "Globi"
The "Globi" trail is shorter, obstacle-free, and has the treasure chests and a marble run. It's 3 km long and takes about 1hr walking downhill, suitable for children age 3+ (the clues are easier on this path). The path is a wide dirt service road, possible with strollers.
This trail also has a marble runs along the way - buy a wooden ball at the start of the trail. See trail map.
Option B: "Globine"
This version is 3.2 km and takes about 90 mins walking downhill. It's suitable for children aged 6+. It’s a narrow dirt footpath (no strollers). See trail map.
How to get there
From Engelberg, get to the Brunni cable car. Ride up to the Ristis station. Then ride a chair lift up to Brünnithütte, where you'll find the Brunni Tickle Trail, a short sensory path around a little pond.
Both trail versions end at the Ristis alpine playground with summer toboggan and restaurant.
My kids love this area so much that we always spend the entire day on the mountain, riding down on the last cable car of the day.
