Berggasthaus Staubern is a small mountain hotel and restaurant at the top of the Frümsen-Staubern cable car.

It's a convenient place to have a coffee before hiking to the Saxer Lücke viewpoint or lunch while hiking the Alpstein Geological Trail. They prefer cash payment.

Their food is pretty good, Swiss classics made with care. One time we picked up handmade granola bars (pictured here) to take on our hike. Yum!

Overnight stay

They have double, triple and a 5-bed room as well as a dormitory style 10-bed rooms.

They provide a towel, soap and bed linen. The rooms have a sink. Shared WC and showers (shower costs CHF 5).

The overnight fee does not include dinner. Instead, just order à la carte at the restaurant.
