Niederhorn is tall mountain near Interlaken with panoramic views over Lake Thun and the Bernese Oberland peaks.
From the lake, you ride a funicular and gondola up the mountain. At the top, there is a restaurant and nice playground with spectacular views.

What to do
Above the restaurant, there is a fenced path along the cliffs, where you can safely enjoy the views. There's also a nice picnic area and several lounge chairs in the alpine meadows where you can relax. This is a great place for non-hikers to enjoy the views without much more.
If you like to hike, you can wander along the ridge, with options from 2 to 11 km long (learn more about the trails here).
Niederhorn is a good choice for spring and fall since the mountain transport here is usually open from late April to early November.
How to get there
To reach the Niederhorn viewpoint, you start by riding a funicular train located at Beatenbucht, 3658 Sigriswil, about a 15 min drive from Interlaken. There is metered parking next to the funicular.
You can also ride a bus to the funicular station: Beatenbucht stop. About 15 mins from Interlaken.
At the Beatenberg mountain village, you switch to a small gondola that takes you the rest of the way up the mountain.
