This alpine playground is in the Braunwald mountain area at the Grotzenbüel gondola station, where you'll also find a restaurant and ropes park.

This is the halfway point of the fun Zwerg-Bartli theme trail for kids. We usually stop here for lunch and playtime before continuing the rest of the trail.

You can also get here without hiking by riding a gondola up from the Braunwald village.

How to get there

To get to the playground, you start by riding the Linthal-Braunwald funicular up to the alpine village.

Location: Linthal-Braunwald funicular - Stachelbergstrasse 2, 8783 Glarus Süd Switzerland / Linthal Braunwaldbahn train station.

From Zurich: 1h15 by car, 1h30 by train

Then a short walk to the Hüttenberg-Grötzenbüel gondola, which you ride up the mountain. The gondola drops you at the restaurant. The ropes park is just past the restaurant terrace.

Open: mid June to late October. The gondola usually runs from about 9:00 - 16:30, sometimes taking an hour break at lunch. See current opening times.
