Lauterbrunnen is a small village in the Jungfrau Region. It is well connected by public transport and roads to all the popular destinations in this region.

The Lauterbrunnen train station is located in the center of the village (see on map).

Travel Times

To Interlaken: Trains depart every 30 mins (xx:01 and xx:31). Travel time 22 mins. Check schedule.

To Grindelwald: Ride the blue train headed to Interlaken. Get off at the Zweilütschen stop. Then change to the train headed to Grindelwald. Travel time 39 mins. Check

To Wengen: The yellow mountain departs every 30 mins, traveling to Wengen in 11 min. Check schedule. Note: The train continues past Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg, but requires a more expensive ticket.

To Mürren (two options):

• Go to the bus stop in front of the Lauterbrunnen train station. Get on Bus 141 (direction Stechelberg Hotel). Ride to Stechelberg, Schilthornbahn, which drops you at the cable car station. Ride cable car to Mürren village. Check schedule.

• (This route is closed until 11 Jul 2026) Exit the station and cross the street to the Grütschalp cable car. Ride this up the mountain and transfer to the mountain train headed to Mürren. Total travel time about

Tickets

All connections above are free with Swiss Travel Pass, Berner Oberland Pass, Saver Day Pass and GA. The Jungfrau Travel Pass covers everything except the bus in Lauterbrunnen valley.

You can buy individual tickets on the SBB Mobile app or ticket machines and ticket office at the train station.
