Oberhaupt is one of three peak viewpoints you can visit on Mount Pilatus (including Esel and Tomlishorn).

To reach Oberhaupt, you walk up the stairs on the north end of the Pilatus Kulm terrace, just before the hotel and full service restaurant. It takes less that 10 mins to walk up to the viewpoint, which overlooks Lake Lucerne.

We love this view, but we slightly prefer the Esel viewpoint on the other side of the terrace. If you have time and energy to hike out to Tomlishorn, we like that viewpoint the best.
