Because of the relatively low elevation at 1642m, you can usually hike to this peak starting in May. No gondola required. You just drive to the mountain pass where the trail starts.

It’s a tough climb at times, but overall a moderate hike, popular with locals of all ages. We loved this trail, rivaling many hikes higher up the mountains that are more expensive to access.

There is a restaurant near the parking and a hut near the peak with sporadic opening times. No fire pits along this trail, so bring a cold picnic.
