The Pfingstegg mountain in Grindelwald has great views and fun amusements, including a summer toboggan and fly line through the forest. After enjoying the views, you can hike down the mountain instead of riding the cable car down. It's a nice way to stretch your legs and enjoy the mountain a bit longer.

This trail is a narrow dirt path with switchbacks, suitable for casual hikers and families with younger kids that have some hiking experience. Much of the trail is in the forest, with occasional views of the Grindelwald valley.

Along the way, you'll pass Bergasthaus Marmorbruch, where you can stop for refreshments.

Trail: moderate • 1h20 • 2.7km • 50m up, 430m down
See trail map.

How to get there

This trail starts at the top of the Pfingstegg cable car - Grabenstrasse 17, Grindelwald. See on map.

There is metered parking next to the cable car. It's about a 15 min walk from the Grindelwald train station or take the bus to the Grindelwald, Pfingsteggbahn stop.
