This mountain trail leads to the Trift suspension bridge and viewpoint to the Trift glacier.

Hike: moderate • 2h40 round trip • 2.75 km each way • 360m up & down • See trail map.

Location: Trift cable car - Sustenstrasse, 3863 Gadmen • from Interlaken, 45 min drive
bus stop Nessental, Triftbahn - from Interlaken 1h10 by train + bus

To reach the hike, you ride the Triftbahn cable car up the mountain. Reservations are highly recommended. When selecting your down time, plan for at least 3h30 or more to complete the hike.

Then a tough, but short hike up a rocky path, about 90 mins to the viewpoint and bridge. It requires decent fitness and best done with sturdy hiking shoes with good tread.

Some parts of the trail have steep slopes to one side. Not suitable for those afraid of heights or small children.

You can return the way you came. Or do a detour to the Windegg Hut for lunch. We suggest the "Familenweg" trail, which forks left about 10 mins after leaving the bridge - see trail map with hut detour. This adds about an extra hour to your hike.
