Stoos Lodge is a new modern hotel, conveniently located next to the funicular station in the Stoos village. It's a great place to stay if you want an early start on the Stoos ridge trail or want to catch the sunset on summer Saturdays.

It's surprisingly much more affordable than accommodation in nearby Luzern.

They have spacious rooms with a fresh, contemporary style. All rooms are air-conditioned and come with king-sized beds. Most rooms have a nice views of the village and mountains, but the higher floors definitely have better views.

For families: Stoos Lodge has nice extras for families including family suites, an indoor fun park, non-breakable dishes at the restaurant. They also offer childcare (discount for hotel guests), great if you want to do the ridge trail without your small children.

Restaurant: The on-site restaurant has an outdoor terrace with mountains views (perfect for watching the sunset) and indoor seating near large panorama windows. Their optional breakfast buffet includes a nice selection of local alp cheese, in addition to the traditional continental breakfast options.

Wellness. For a small fee, you can use their sauna and fitness area. Or spring for the spa suites that include a private whirlpool tub and sauna. You can visit the day spa at their partner hotel Wellness Hotel Stoos, about a 7 min walk through the village.

Sunset on the cliffs. On summer Saturdays, the chairlifts to Fronalpstock run until 10pm (usually close at 17:30) so you can enjoy the sunset. Staying at the Stoos Lodge means you don't have to travel to your home base in the dark.
