Eigergletscher is a cable car and mountain train station, a middle stop on the way from Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch.

Many people ride the Eiger Express cable car here, then switch to the Jungfrau Railway headed up to the Jungfraujoch.

What to do

If you have extra time at this station, you can walk outside to a large viewing platform, with fantastic views of the glacier hanging on the peaks above and Lauterbrunnen.

Above the far end of the platform, there is "The Wall Bar" selling drinks and snacks. Only open Fri-Sun.

This station has toilets, lockers, and a small cafe and kiosk selling snacks.

Hikes from here

This station is the starting point for the Eiger Trail, a beautiful hike that leads directly under the famous peak.

You can also hike from this station down to the Kleine Scheidegg station, which is a great way to get pictures of the Jungfrau Railway.
