Brienzer Rothorn is tall mountain east of Interlaken, with an easy to reach viewpoint at 2351m overlooking Lake Brienz and the mountains in all directions.
You reach the Rothorn Kulm viewpoint with a vintage steam cogwheel railway or a cable car. This is a great choice for non-hikers and those with reduced mobility, who can enjoy the view from the observation deck and restaurant terraces with minimal effort.

What to do
At the Rothorn Kulm viewpoint, there is a short path up to an observation deck, where you can enjoy views on all sides of the mountain.
There are two restaurants with outdoor terraces, a popular spot for lunch and afternoon drinks.
You can do a short hike down to the Eisee alpine lake, where can picnic or eat at a mountain restaurant next to the lake. Then return by chair lift up to the Rothorn viewpoint.
For a serious hike, you start the spectacular Brienzer Rothorn ridge trail here, about 4 hours one-way to Türren-Lungern.

How to get there
From Interlaken, ride the Brienz Rothornbahn mountain train from Brienz. It's located at Hauptstrasse 149, 3855 Brienz, train station Brienz (21 min from Interlaken Ost).
From Lucerne, the Sörenberg cable car is a bit more convenient and less expensive. It is located at Flüehüttenboden 1, 6174 Sörenberg, bus stop Sörenberg, Platz (1h from Luzern train station).
