Cathedral Lake Trail near Aspen, Colorado is a popular 5.4-mile out-and-back hike known for its stunning scenery and challenging terrain. Hikers can expect rocky trails, steep switchbacks, and a beautiful alpine lake at the end. The trail is great for backpacking, camping, and hiking, with opportunities to see wildflowers, wildlife, and breathtaking mountain views. Just be prepared for some tough climbs and possibly encountering other outdoor enthusiasts along the way. And don't forget to leave no trace and respect the environment while enjoying this scenic adventure!

There is no trail around the lake but you can make your way through the scree if you wanted different vantage points of the lake. For more views and adding to the challenge, you can hike up to Electric pass (additional 4 miles) for stunning views of the Elk mountain range.
