A short drive north of the Jasper townsite, Pyramid Lake Lodge is one of the most beautifully situated accommodations in Jasper National Park. The 68 rooms are spread across several log cabin-style buildings terraced into the hillside, each with a gas fireplace and balcony. Following a 2025 renovation, the Founders rooms are now the most modern and well-appointed on the property — worth requesting specifically when booking. The lake itself is the star of the show year-round. In summer, canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, and mountain bikes are available to rent directly from the lodge, and the surrounding trail network offers excellent hiking with strong wildlife viewing. Come winter, the frozen lake transforms into a natural skating rink with horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowshoe rentals, and fat bikes on offer — and stays include complimentary access to winter activities, which is a genuine value-add. The Aalto restaurant handles breakfast and dinner on-site, and a free shuttle runs to Jasper townsite for those wanting to explore further afield.
