Even though the Fusine Lakes are just across the border in Italy, they’re a great stop if you’re driving between the Soča Valley and Lake Bled. The drive takes you along the scenic Vršič Pass and through Tarvisio, making this a perfect spot to stop and stretch your legs. The two lakes—Lago di Fusine Superiore and Lago di Fusine Inferiore—sit at the base of the Mangart Mountains and are surrounded by alpine forests and dramatic peaks. You can’t swim here, but it’s a peaceful spot for a walk or a picnic, with easy trails circling both lakes. It’s a quick detour that’s absolutely worth it for the views!
