The Great Soča Gorge is one of the most beautiful spots along the Soča River, with bright turquoise water carving through a narrow canyon of smooth rock. It’s easy to access from the small parking area near the road between Bovec and Trenta, and a short trail leads you right to the gorge. You can walk across bridges and explore different viewpoints along the way. We’d also highly recommend hiking part of the Soča Trail here—it follows the river through Triglav National Park and gives you even more chances to take in the incredible scenery. To avoid crowds, try visiting early in the morning or later in the evening.
