After your bellies are full of amazing Icelandic food, head to the Kerid Crater for an easy hike. It's approximately an hour's drive from Reykjavik.

Kerið Crater is a stunning volcanic crater located in Iceland, known for its vibrant blue lake and striking red and black slopes. Formed around 6,500 years ago, it’s part of the Þingvellir National Park area and offers visitors a glimpse into the country’s geological history. The crater is about 55 meters deep and 170 meters wide, making it quite a sight to behold. People often hike around the rim, taking in the breathtaking views and snapping photos of the colorful landscape. The contrast between the water and the surrounding earth tones creates a picturesque scene that draws nature lovers and photographers alike. It’s a popular stop on the Golden Circle route, so you’ll likely find fellow travelers enjoying the scenery as well.
