Here on the Reykjanes Peninsula, you can literally walk between two continents. A simple footbridge, known locally as Miðlína or Leif the Lucky Bridge, spans the dramatic rift valley where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are slowly pulling apart. It's a powerful, humbling experience to stand in this raw, volcanic landscape and witness the earth's immense geological forces at play. After you've crossed the bridge, take some time to wander down into the sandy fissure for a truly unique perspective.
