Rumiñahui is an impressive, dormant stratovolcano situated in Ecuador's Andes Mountains. Just 40km south of Quito, this stunning mountain stands tall at 4,721 metres above sea level and casts an eye-catching shadow over its famous namesake, Cotopaxi. Its name translates to "stone eye," making reference to its captivating rock face that locals and tourists alike are drawn to behold. It is an ideal destination for any adventurous traveler looking to explore the mesmerizingly rugged terrain of South America. There are three main peaks, South, Central and North, with the hardest one being the North Summit. Rumiñahui was a famous Inca General.
