Mosquera Islet, located between North Seymour and Baltra island, is a must-see destination for any avid traveler. It is an uninhabited land with volcanic origins, showcasing breathtaking white sand beaches, clear turquoise waters, sprawling green vegetation, and black lava rocks. Visitors can expect to be greeted by the incredible colony of Galapagos sea lions; numerous species of birds such as the rare Lava Gull, Blue Footed Booby, Brown Pelican, Ruddy Turnstone, Sanderling, Herons (Lava and Yellow Crowned), among many others; marine iguanas; colorful Sally lightfoot crabs; and tidal pools full of life! Orcas can also be seen occasionally cruising through the area to feed on sea lions, making it a truly unique wildlife experience. For enthusiastic snorkelers or scuba divers, Mosquera Islet offers one of the best places to encounter playful sea lions, vibrant tropical fish, turtles, and even sharks. Be sure to check out Mosquera Islet on your next Galapagos trip - you won't be disappointed!
