The Lobhornhütte is a cozy mountain hut in the Swiss Alps that's famous for its amazing panoramic views over Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau. Some even say it's Switzerlands most scenic hut!
You can easily reach it from Sulwald or Grütschalp, which makes it a perfect destination also for tourists who want to experience hut life but don't have a lot of time. I took the route from Grütschalp (see separate pinpoint for the hike). You need to prebook the hut (do that far in advance!) and the stay was 85 CHF and included dinner, breakfast, and a sleeping spot in the dorm. Note that there is no proper bathroom, and the toilet is also a non-flush one :-) Everything is very rural, but that's the charm of it! I stayed in the side house, which was really modern, still there is still no heating.
So what should you bring? It's best to bring a washing cloth, warm clothes for cold mountain nights, and a hut sleeping bag. You'll be provided with Hut-Crocs to walk around in.
The most important part: Don't miss out on the sunset and the sunrise, they are phenomenal. I recommend walking up the hill to the left of the hut to see the sunrise in full glory.
