This is definitely a hike you cannot skip. And there is a reason why it's so famous. We were amazed by how beautiful this whole trail is.

HIKE DESCRIPTION The hike starts at Rifugio Auronzo. It takes around 3-4 hours. But count with many many photo stops. During the entire hike we were so mesmerized by the beauty of the nature here. The views are breath-taking in every direction.

Once you get to the first viewpoint you have an option to turn right and explore tunnels in the mountain. I think it continues further, maybe even all the way to Dre Zinnen Hutte. However, you can turn around any time. Some parts are really scatchy and exposed so you should be careful. Especially with kids. But it's for sure worth your time.

Once you're back on the trail the section until Drei Zinnen Hutte is quite easy with almost no incline. Have some lunch or refreshing drinks. You can also spend a night here. Above there are another tunnels in the mountain.

From here you need to go down to a valley a bit. The last section is probably the hardest with a lot of incline. But nothing you wouldn't manage if you are in a moderately fit shape. There are plenty options of food and drinks available in multiple huts on the way. You can even spend a night in some of them.

PARKING Unless you are willing to add a few hours of a steep hike, there is only one option really. You can park at Rifugio Auronzo for 30€ per 24 hours. You can spend a night camping up here! Before we came we read that the road is only open between 7am and 7pm. We came at 6am and wwe could already pass.

OUR TIPS As you probably know, Tre Cime is the most famous spot in Dolomites. That means many people. If you plan to spend a night on one of the mountain huts in the area book ahead if possible. Avoid coming on weekends.

Despite good weather predictions, prepare for rain. Just in case. It's mountains, and weather can change quickly.
