When you visit Mull there are a few neighbouring islands that are easily within reach of very short boat rides and one not to miss out on is Ulva.

Famous for its Boathouse restaurant and the soon to be Ulva House, which if you watch Banjo and Ro's Grand Island Hotel, you'll know is being renovated - it is a 2 minute passenger ferry ride from the mainland.

Once across, there are many trails to walk on the island to work up an appetite and you'll given a map upon arrival.

Just check opening times for the Boathouse in advance as without this there isn't currently anywhere else to eat / drink on the island. On a good day though, this can be a beautiful spot to spend the afternoon.
