Balvaird Castle is a late medieval Scottish tower house built around 1495 for Sir Andrew Murray. The castle features carved stone corbels and an elaborate aumbry. Over the years, it underwent extensions and alterations, including the addition of a gatehouse in 1567.

Perhaps more significantly, the castle is due to feature in the new series of Outlander and so expect this place to become more popular - for now it is free to visit!
