NOTE: I've listed many of the landmarks and buildings within the Acropolis in my maps to give you an idea of what you're looking at, but I highly recommend hiring a guide to fully appreciate this area! There are 2 queues, one for purchasing tickets and one for entry during your timeslot. There is also very little shade and it can get quite crowded, so I recommend purchasing the opening entrance time online to avoid crowds or a late afternoon time to enjoy the sunset. Perched above the sprawling city of Athens, the Acropolis is an unforgettable journey into ancient history. Be prepared for a bit of a climb to the top; the path can be rocky and the marble slippery, so sturdy shoes are a must. Once you arrive, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views and the awe-inspiring sight of the Parthenon and the Erechtheion.
