Local beach on El Salvador’s east coast

Beach

This beach is one of those beaches that still feels lovely local 🄹. You can see here Salvadoran families, that come to spend the day by the ocean, eat seafood and enjoy their time together. There’s a small beach town here that still feels very authentic, but you can already see signs that it’s growing and slowly developing into something even more special.

What we liked most is that it still hasn’t lost its local character. There’s a lot of potential, you can imagine more restaurants, cafĆ©s, and things to do appearing over time and at the same time we hope it keeps that relaxed, down-to-earth vibe that makes it feel real.

One note from a foreigner: The street vendors feel quite pushy here, which takes a bit away from the overall vibe 🄓.

The beach itself is wide and sandy, perfect for long walks, and the waves are usually quite gentle compared to many other beaches in the western part of El Salvador, which makes it a nice spot to just enjoy the water and the open space.

If you’re exploring the east side of the country, El Cuco is a lovely place to stop, take in the ocean, and experience a beach, where you can still soak in the local beach life.
