This is often mentioned as one of the top things to do on the eastern side of El Salvador. This viewpoint sits high up on the Conchagua volcano area and is known for its wide views over the Gulf of Fonseca, the surrounding mountains, and on clear days, even the nearby islands 🥹.

We haven’t been here yet, but it’s very high on our list because it’s not just a quick stop, it takes a bit of planning. Most people come to stay overnight, usually renting a tent and basic equipment, so they can wake up early and watch the sunrise from the viewpoint. From what we’ve seen and heard, the sunrise here is truly special and one of the main reasons people make the trip.
