This spotis one of the most important natural areas in El Salvador, known for its vast mangroves, wildlife, and network of canals and islands along the coast in Usulután. It’s the largest wetland ecosystem in the country and a protected area recognized internationally for its biodiversity.

The bay is home to huge mangrove forests, coastal birds, and endangered sea turtles, including important nesting areas for hawksbill turtles. Boat rides through the channels are one of the main ways to explore, giving you a chance to see the landscape up close and understand how local communities live alongside this ecosystem.

We haven’t been here yet, but it’s very high on our list 🙌

If you’re interested in nature or simply exploring somewhere less visited, this is definitely one of those places to keep on your radar.
