A city this large without a metro? 🤔 That was never supposed to be the plan.

While searching for genuinely unusual things to do in Belgrade, we stumbled across Vukov Spomenik "metro" stop and immediately knew this historical spot in underground deserved a place on this map.

Located beneath a pleasant Cyril & Methodius Park in Vračar, this station is a fascinating reminder of an ambitious metro project that never fully materialized after the collapse of Yugoslavia.

Trains still stop here, but it doesn't function as a metro station. You will find the way to the underground when following the only stairs going down inside Cyril & Methodius Park, very close to the main road.

Whether you're interested in architecture, urban exploration, or Yugoslav history, it's worth visiting simply to experience the scale and ambition behind the project.
