More information:
Sumac Lookout offers one of the most beautiful elevated views over the Arthur River as it winds through a deep, forested gorge. The platform sits above towering myrtle, sassafras, and leatherwood rainforest, giving you a true sense of the scale and untouched nature of the Tarkine.
This is a peaceful and atmospheric stop, especially in the morning when the forest is misty or after rain when the river runs deep brown beneath the canopy. It pairs perfectly with other nearby viewpoints such as Julius River, Trowutta Arch, and The Edge of the World.
Sumac Lookout is an effortless yet rewarding stop that captures the wild and ancient character of Tasmania’s west coast rainforest.
