Location:

The Gardens is located near Binalong Bay on Tasmania’s north-east coast, within the famous Bay of Fires region. Known for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and striking orange-hued granite rocks, The Gardens is a quieter spot compared to nearby Binalong Bay, offering a peaceful coastal escape.

How to get there:

From St Helens, follow the Tasman Highway (A3) north and turn onto the local access road toward The Gardens. There’s parking available near the beach, with short walking tracks leading down to the sand.

Is it suitable for swimming?

Yes — the waters at The Gardens are generally calm and suitable for swimming. Sheltered areas between the rocks are especially family-friendly, but always check conditions before entering the water.

Can you see wildlife there?

Yes — seabirds are common along the shore, dolphins & whales are occasionally spotted offshore. The surrounding bushland provides habitat for wallabies, pademelons, and other native wildlife.

Dogs allowed:

Dogs are permitted in some areas, but restrictions may apply to protect wildlife. Always check local signage and council regulations before visiting.

More information:
