Qorikancha, also known as Coricancha, was the most important temple in the Inca Empire located in Cusco, Peru. Originally dedicated to the Inca god of the sun, Inti, it was a place of great religious significance and opulence. The temple was adorned with gold and silver decorations, and its walls were once covered in sheets of gold. However, much of the temple was destroyed by Spanish colonists who built the Convent of Santo Domingo on the site using its foundations. Today, visitors can still see remnants of the ancient temple within the convent, showcasing the impressive Inca stonework and architectural techniques.
