Vacation Florida

Travel Business

Hi, I'm Danny. I grew up in Boston, but 25 years ago I traded snow shovels for salt air, and I've been a Florida local ever since. I'm the guy behind Vacation Florida. What started as sharing the places I'd actually send my friends has grown into a community of 70,000+ people who all want the same thing: the real Florida, not the brochure version. Here's what I believe: there are two Floridas. There's the one with $40 parking, resort fees, and a noon arrival at a packed beach. And there's the one locals live in. Free parking three blocks over. Toes in the sand by 8:30. Dinner at a place with no website. Same state, very different trip. Everything we publish exists to get you into the second one. I know both sides because I started as a visitor too. The difference is I never left. That means doing the homework most guides skip. When we feature a vacation rental, it's one I'd book myself, and some of them I have (the sunsets on Anna Maria Island are a personal weakness). When we review a restaurant, we dig through hundreds of real guest experiences so you know exactly what you're walking into before you get there. And when something isn't worth your money, we say so. That's the part most guides won't print. When I'm not making content, you'll find me at Fort De Soto before the crowds, arguing that Tampa Bay is the most underrated food city in America, and adding new spots to this site every week. You deserve the real Florida. Glad you're here. 🌮
