The Goolwa Barrage is a cool spot to check out if you're into seeing how the River Murray works. It's also a prime location for spotting wildlife like seals and plenty of birds! I have never in my life spotted so many birds in one single location! Fun fact - it was built to help control salinity levels and regulate the river's flow. You can take a stroll across the barrage or enjoy a BBQ or picnic with views of Hindmarsh Island. Plus, it's free to visit and open from 10 am to 4 pm every day.
