Cape Banks is already a fascinating destination with its lighthouse and the nearby Pisces Star shipwreck, but what really makes it unforgettable is stumbling across the local seal colony. The first time I visited, I had no idea there were seals here – we were just out exploring when we spotted dozens lounging on the rocks and splashing about in the shallows. It’s such a surprise to see them up close, sunbaking, stretching, and rolling around like they own the place.

For me, moments like this are what make exploring South Australia so special – you never know when you’ll come across wildlife in its natural element!
