Mae La Noi is a quiet town away from the tourist tracks, you can stop here on the way back to Doi Inthanon and Chiang Mai, following the Mae Hong Son loop. There are a few photo opportunities around with rice fields, the royal project and the viewpoint. There are not many hotels and restaurants around but I don't recommend Hernthai resort, either for the food or stay, I got a bad experience there, which is quite rare in Thailand.
