One of the most important places for Buddhists in Thailand can be found in Nakhon Pathom, one of the oldest cities in Thailand. The Phra Pathom chedi. which means is regarded as the oldest Buddhist structure in Thailand. The very impressive chedi (stupa) with its orange roof visible from far away is the largest Buddhist chedi in the world with its 120 meters height. It is one of the 6 most revered temples in Thailand. Do the tour of the chedi, check the several buddha images around the walls, check the people praying, there are a lot of opportunites here. Don't miss the golden hour at the west gate, that's the most impressive with the long stairs and the golden stupa. You can also check the rooftops / hotels around the city to have a far way view, especially at night when the chedi is illuminated. Impressive and beautiful!
