Wat Chalong, built in the early 19th century, is the largest and most visited of Phuket's Buddhist temples. Its real name is Wat Chaitararam, but you'll probably never see it on a map. Wat Chalong comprises several
buildings, the newest being a magnificent 60-meter high "Chedi" housing a Buddha bone fragment. The interior walls and ceilings are decorated with stunning frescoes depicting the life of Buddha.
Many locals claim that the temple often experiences many miracles.
