The vast, silent expanse of the Tankwa Karoo is a place of profound tranquility. Spend your days exploring the gravel roads (which are very rough so be careful!), spotting unique wildlife like gemsbok and springbok, and reserve your nights for some of the most spectacular stargazing in the world. The best time to visit is during the spring (August to October) when the arid landscape can transform into a carpet of wildflowers. You are required to check in and pay your fees at the Park Reception (located at Roodewerf) or have a valid Wild Card (free access)

Fees:

  • South African Citizens & Residents (with ID): R61 per adult / R30 per child (per day).

  • SADC Nationals (with passport): R123 per adult / R61 per child (per day).

  • International Visitors: R269 per adult / R121 per child (per day).
