An epic day hike with spectacular views which can be very tough at times. The fynbos is amazing and there is plenty of water available. The first half of the hike is comprised mostly of a series of steep never-ending ascents to the spectacular lookout over the entire valley and then an easier route back to the start along the river. To access the trail, you need to get through the entrance gate of the park. They only let about 20 cars into the park so it's best to come as early as possible (close to opening times in the morning). You need to pay the permit fee there or if you have a Wild Card, entry is free. You cannot start the hike after 10 AM. If you can't get into the park with your car, you'll have to hike an additional 5km to get to the trailhead (so 10 total!).
