Within the famous Boulders Beach penguin colony, Middle Beach is a sheltered cove where you can take a swim and spot penguins at the same time. It's a more intimate setting than the main viewing boardwalks, allowing you to get close to these birds as they waddle along the sand. To get here, you need to walk from the first beach after the access gate to the boulders. There you'll find a small tunnel you can get through and some boulders you need to scale. At high tide, it won't be possible to get here so time it up with low tide. An entrance fee to the national park is required (and it's valid for the boardwalk too so keep your ticket!)
