This war memorial is dedicated to those who lost their lives in World War I. It also honors veterans from other conflicts like World War II, Borneo, Korea, Malaya, and Vietnam. Designed by William Gummer and Frederick Gurnsey, the bridge features symbolic elements like a cross, torches, coat of arms, and lions. The archway was unveiled on Armistice Day in 1924 and underwent repairs after the 2011 earthquake.
