Mount Hibok-Hibok is a stratovolcano located on the Philippine island of Camiguin. It is part of the Pacific ring of fire and stands at 1,332 metres above sea level. For centuries, this active volcano has been drawing adventurous hikers from around the world looking for a challenge. The summit offers stunning views of White Island, Bohol, and Eastern Mindanao to the east and the island of Siquijor to the west. Mount Hibok-Hibok has a rich history of volcanic activity spanning four eruptions - in 1827, 1862, 1948-1951, and most recently in 2002. It experienced a major eruption in 1951 which resulted in heavy property losses and almost 3000 lives lost. However, with an abundance of hot springs, craters, and domes to explore, and its declaration as an ASEAN Heritage Park in 2015, Mount Hibok-Hibok continues to be an attractive destination for outdoor explorers.
